National Youth HIV & Aids Day (4.10.16)
This year I am a 2016 National Youth HIV and Aids Awareness Day Ambassador (long title I know) but my mission is to continue to educate my peers (specially the youth 15-25) about HIV Awareness and prevention and the importance of getting tested! With the mass amount of stigma behind HIV in our community and health disparities throughout the nation, its very important to me to be one of the voices that help destigmatize these issues that keep us from staying healthy, safer, S.E.X.Y.(Sophisticated, Empowered, Xtraordinary, You).

In 2014, 44% (19,540) of estimated new HIV diagnoses in the United States were among African Americans, who comprise 12% of the US population.
Among all African Americans diagnosed with HIV in 2014, an estimated 73% (14,305) were men.
